Woo-hoo! Talk about jumping into things. We're going on a Blog Hop!
My friend and fellow Red Rooster Fabrics designer, Gudren from GE Designs, has organized 12 different designers for you to check out in the coming weeks. There will be a free project from each designer, prizes along the way, and a Grand Prize at the end of the twelve days. I've added all the participating designers and links to their blogs in the sidebar so you can see who's who. It all begins on Monday, November 9th, but I'm thinking there may be a little pre-hop fun going on before then....
We received my newest book, If Quilts Could Talk, on Friday and Tom spent the weekend getting the pre-orders from Quilt Market packaged and ready to ship out, while I battled with adding it to the website. I finally won, although it was an ugly win. Kinda like the Colts game..... (yes, I live near Indianapolis, so GO COLTS!)
If you want to check it out, visit my website www.whimsicalquilts.com.
And if you're wondering about the quilt on the cover, I've combined applique (the angel) and used Shiva Paintstiks to stencil the words. Both are taken from my latest fabric line, Heart and Soul, which is due to be in the quilt shops in February 2010.
I'll show a close-up of it here, along with a few other projects that are in the book since I can't seem to figure out how to show them on my website....
And here's a small project. Can you tell that I love to use words on my quilts?! I was inspired to make this big SMiLE after visiting my sister's house. Above one of her doorways, she had these big letters that said "smile" and every time I looked at them, I had to smile!
Hope you check back and enjoy the Blog Hop! Make sure you check out all the designers!
