It's Day 1 of the Fall-O-Ween Blog Hop and the topic is color. And I don't think it will come as a surprise to anyone that the colors of fall are some of my favorites. How can you not love all those browns, reds, golds and greens?
And of course, if you take a look at my fabric stash, you'll find lots of browns and neutrals.
And even my threads are the color of fall. (By the way, these are some wool threads that I got from Sue Spargo. I love the colors she offers and they are beautiful to work with too!)
But my favorite color of the fall has to be the vibrant reds. It must be that "pop" of color that draws my eye to them! This is a Japanese Maple that we have in the front yard and it's my favorite tree in the fall because of the color that the leaves change to. Of course, by this time of the year, everything else around it is brown because it's so dry. Maybe that's why I love to use brown and red together in a quilt. Huh. I never made the connection until right now....
So that's enough of my ramblings. Make sure you go visit Gudren and get your free project! I'm sure she has something wonderful and fun for you!
Yeah love you colours thanks for introducing me to Blog hops - we dont really celebrate Halloween in Australia but I lived in America for 2 years and it brings back so many memories. I would agree with you the vibrant reds are my favourite as well.

It's not (yet?) a good year for fall color in KY -- but when it's good it's really good -- with all the colors you named and touches of eggplant and deep orange! Stunning indeed and without fail the colors I'm drawn to (maybe why I have so many of your books, patterns and fabric! LOL) My favorites? the deep yellows and golds (accented by the reds, of course!)
Blessings,
Mary Lou

I have my whole house done in "neutrals" which would be the colors of fall.. the accent color is red, or maroon. Unless it is Christmas, then it is definately RED. I love it! Something about this time of year makes me relax and enjoy. Must be good childhood memories.

What better way to be inspired by colour than by the colours of nature...good advice when one is planning for their next quilt.

Not to much color here in the Ozarks yet. We actually don't have many maples that give the best display. We are loaded with Oaks. I have seen some persimmons tho, that is always a great fall color.
Love finding you and will be following.
