In the midst of doing the blog hop, I'm also deep in the process of trying to get a new book ready for Quilt Market, which is only 4 weeks away. So, I'm going to keep this short tonight, but just let prove that I have been working on things, here's a sneak peek of a few things I have in the works....
I'm not sure yet when I will have this book ready, but be looking for it in the future (how's that for being vague?!) It will be called Down Winterberry Lane, and many of the projects will use my new to-be-introduced-at-market fabric line, Winterberry Lane.
So, now that that's out of the way, let's talk about clothes. Or, to be more specific, my feelings on clothes and the fall season. Now, don't get me wrong, I love fall. It's my favorite time of year. But there is something rather depressing about having to give up these.....
.
.
for these.....
.
Ok, to be perfectly honest, I haven't really pulled out my boots just yet. But I live in my sandals all summer, and wear them as long into the fall season as I can, and I don't really like the thought of putting them away.
But alas. I know that time is coming soon. I'm just going to delay it as long as possible.
I think it's perfectly fine to wear flip flops and a sweatshirt. Isn't it?!
Yes its that time of year again. I have been pulling out my fall coloured cloths and getting ready to put my summer stuff away. there are so many rich colours out in the trees right now ,yum yum .

I don't typically wear flip flops but i do have a summer staple.. Capris! Love the short pants without them being shorts.

I think so! So much easier to slip into flip flops.

I think so because I do it all the time. I will be looking for the new book. Love your product.

I don't wear sandals, could never stand that piece that fits between your toes! But, I do wear Birkenstock's, and I hang on, and wear them until it gets too cold to wear them any longer.

I love sandals! Living in Central Florida, I pretty much live in them 9-10 months out of the year :-)

As much as I like wearing sandals, I love when I get to wear socks and shoes with my jeans & sweaters. Makes me feel all warm and cozy!
Posted by: Darlene B | October 1, 2010 at 08:28 AM
I have to admit the sandles look much more appealing then the boots.

Only one thing better than sandals...BARE FEET!! LOL
Posted by: Polly | October 1, 2010 at 08:58 AM
LOL, your toes could be part of the Winterberry Lane collection - perfect color!!! LOL
On a serious note - OH MY WORD- I look forward to your new line....because your sneak peak photos are such a delicious appetizer.
Happy Fall..
And - just put some socks on under those sandals....POOF - now you can wear the sandals longer.

Your toes look so cute!

I agree with you .....it's perfectly fine to wear flip flops and a sweatshirt. Love the polished toes!!
Posted by: Pauline | October 1, 2010 at 10:17 AM
flip flops and a sweatshirst are fine fashion statements. heeheehe.....as for socks and flip flops, well, you be the judge.....
Posted by: Claire | October 1, 2010 at 10:18 AM
I'm with you: I resist giving up my sandals until I can no longer get warm because my feet are freezing!
Posted by: Jay | October 1, 2010 at 10:19 AM
I'll be in sandals or flip-flops until the snow falls. Only then will I drag out the socks and tennies.

Love the look of that project...the colours are fabulous.
BTW love the sandals!

Can't wait for the new fabric line to some out, my fingers are getting itchy to start sewing with them.

Lots of people wear flip flops with sweatshirts down here. What is even more amusing is to see people wearing shorts and a sweatshirt or jacket! Is it warm? Is it cold? Make up your minds people! LOL. :-)
As for sandals, I too wear them for as long as I can. I don't like wearing socks and sneakers. But, I know I will have to when cold weather hits because I can't stand cold feet. LOL. :-)

yea, i'd rather it be spring or fall all year round, but is not the case. If I had to give up one of the extremes, it would be summer, is miserable in Missouri in summer! would rather be cold.

I agree that it is hard to put away all the summer things like sandals, shorts and t-shirts to make way for boots, pants, sweat shirts and jackets.

I _Like_ your words embrodered!

I think so but, you have to admit it does look a little goofy ;)

I won't give up my sandals until I have to deal with ice or deep puddles!
Posted by: Michelle | October 1, 2010 at 03:20 PM
Oh my...I live in sweats or flannel PJ's with warm slippers year round at home. I do however understand how for those of you giving up flip flops for boots and slippers may be feeling. I would feel the same way if someone tried to take my slippers away and trade for flip flops, LOL. NO I don't live in Alaska...I'm just cold all the time. Go figure!

I used to be a barefoot girl all the time, but now I like my fuzzy slippers and boots! (but it's pretty chilly here on the coast!)
Posted by: Pamela | October 1, 2010 at 04:58 PM
I love sanals but like warm sweaters and boots too
Posted by: Robin Crittenden | October 1, 2010 at 05:03 PM
I also love wearing sandals in the summer. Your red toenails look so pretty & it is a shame to have to hide them in shoes. Looking forward to your new book.

I love slipping on my faux-crocs for going outside. I won't be able to do that too much longer!
Posted by: Louise K. | October 1, 2010 at 06:34 PM
Got you. I live in sandals as long as I possibly can ... which is sometimes into early January down here in Florida. I've always loved the look and feel of fall/winter clothing like sweaters but hate having my feet encased! Happy blog hopping.

What a gorgeous name for fabric! Can't wait to check out the book too!
Posted by: Jennifer | October 1, 2010 at 08:28 PM
Love sandals especially with pretty polishes!! I, too, will wear them long after I shouldn't!! Winterberry looks fun, and that sneak peek is really appealing, would like to see more....!!
Posted by: Linda P | October 1, 2010 at 08:29 PM
I hate having to put on socks and tie shoes and a jacket. It is so much freer feeling not to have to add layers before leaving the house. And the new fabric line is so enticing!
Posted by: Leslie Schmidt | October 1, 2010 at 11:15 PM
I can't wait to see your new book.
I am still bare footing, I hate wearing shoes, lol.
Still in tanks and shorts, but once the temp drops below 50, I guess I will have to wear pants again;)

Oh, man, those two pictures of the sandals and boots, side by side, are just pitiful! You are truly putting out Christmas fabric ?!?!!? Oh joy!!! I can't wait, can't wait, can't wait. :)

Your sneak preview is so enticing. That fabric looks like some I'm going to be forced to support the economy with. :) Can't wait to see it and the new book. I LOVE quilt books! :) And those BOOTS---gotta have a pair---care to share what brand those are? I haven't seen ANY like them.
