I feel bad that I didn't even mention going to visit Terry's blog yesterday..... Sure hope you had a chance to because her little zipper pouch is really cute! And as for everyone else's projects so far..... well, I think they're all great!
If you've had a chance to make any of the projects and want to post the picture, Pat has set up a Flickr group for you to do just that. You can visit it here.
So, today's topic is decorations. And I hate to admit it, but in recent years, I haven't done any decorating for fall or even Thanksgiving. Many years ago, we used to go all out decorating the house with those fake spider webs and have a halloween costume party with our friends. We don't do that anymore, but a few days ago I was going out to my car and spotted this .....
I mean, really. Who need fake spider webs when you can have one that looks like this?! So there. I guess I have some halloween decorations this year after all. And I didn't even have to do it myself!
And since I don't have any pictures to share of my decorations, I thought I might share a few of when we would decorate ourselves or our kids for halloween.
Yes, both of these pictures are of Tom & I, MANY years ago. We were "scary" bikers one year and hippies the next.
And as for the kids, who can resist dressing them up in fun costumes?!
Poor Tyler got to be one of the few store bought costumes we had, which was a cow. He walked around for days "mooing", which is what he's doing in the picture. And then, he was trying to make his shepard costume look as scary as his brother's sea monster. Poor guy. I don't think it worked.
We never really did the scary costume thing, but you have to admit, they are original, though. It's not very often that someone dresses up as the Energizer Bunny, the Pillbury Dough Boy, or a Lego.
So I guess what I should really say is that we spent more time decorating our kids than we did decorating the house. But they were fun years!
After writing so much about fall this year, I thinking I need to do something to spruce up the house.
Maybe a pumpkin or two.
I think they would fit right in with that monster spiderweb we have.
What do you think?!

And for today's project, you need to hop on over to Heather's blog. Be sure to leave her a comment while you're visiting too!

Love the costumes! I'm sitting here trying to figure out how to develop a lego costume for my daughters :) lol As for the pumpkins, you can just paint faces on them so less work than carving for nice decorations. Have a wonderful day and thanks for sharing!

Terri, the Legoman cracks me up!!!
Costumes - I loved making them through the years for our kids. And if it's even possible, I have more fun making them for the grandkids.
This year, the grandkids went through "the box" of costumes that I've kept from our own kids...of many, many years.
Our grandson saw this "black shirt/mask/red belt "thing"...he asked what it could be. My DD and I told him that Uncle Jim was Zorro one year. Our grandson is 7 and asked WHAT IS ZORRO. We told him Zorro wasn't a "what" but a "who" and proceeded to tell him the story of Zorro.
Oh my word, DD and I still giggle about it. What does our grandson want to be for Halloween? Yeap - you guessed it - ZORRO is coming back to life after 20+ years...LOL

You need a spider to go with that web. Love the kids costumes.

Cute costumes! I have two girls so we did "cute" costumes instead of scary. I think my favorite was when they were Indian girls with brown costumes, braids and little headbands. They were adorable!!

Oh what fun that is. The photos are great.

Ah yes, the fall spider webs. I go out the front door every morning flailing my arm in front of me so I don't get any on my face. They love throwing a few strands across my porch in the night!

Love the logo costume.
One year my DD1 went as a parcel (a brown papered covered cardboard box) and then the next year we re-used the box and she went as a birthday gift! :o)

I guess I have been decorated for Halloween for quite some time. Looking up at the dining room light/fan, I see my "decorations". Good reason 'not' to clean house - don't want to destroy my decorations! LOL HUGS... and stitches

Nice spider web photo!

That spider web is beautiful. It is amazing what those little critters can do overnight. We have one that builds a new one in front of the house every night at this time of the year ~ only in the fall. Not fun to run into it when going out to pick up the paper though. Guess it is our Fall O Ween decorator. But do need to get some pumpkins & gourds outside to go with that web. Your children & even you adults have fun costumes. Thanks for all the ideas I am getting during this blog hop.

Oh Terri, even though it's not your "day," I had to tell you how much I enjoyed looking at your costumes! Halloween is my favorite holiday -- my two boys always had costumes that "related" to each other. i.e., fireman and dalmation, Lewis and Clark, George Washington and Lord Cornwallis, Batman and Robin -- you get the picture. Looking forward to seeing what you do for your Halloweenie post!

Those costumes are so fun. I usually made ours too, one year my son was, My pet monster, that was a big thing in his day.

Very cool costumes! I love the mooing cow. He was really into his role! I don't do much fall decorating, because then I'd have to dust, my least favorite job.
