Sewing, cutting, writing, more sewing, more cutting.....
I've been busy trying to get projects finished for my newest fabric line, Buttons & Blooms. It's amazing how everything snowballs.... I was behind getting the book for Winterberry Lane done, which pushed me behind in getting new designs finished for Buttons & Blooms, but I think I may be catching up to myself, if that's even possible. Whew!
So, for those of you who don't know by now, I am playing hookey at Quilt Market this spring.
I know, I know, you can all start crying along with me right now.
But I haven't missed one in 12 years, so I think I deserve a little slack here! To be perfectly honest, I really am going to miss being there. I love seeing my friends, the excitement of seeing what's new and different, and just having that time away from the usual day to day things at home.
So to explain to you why I'm not going to be there, let me first show you a picture....
This is my youngest in 1994. And this is my youngest in 2011......
Yep. My baby is growing up. And he's graduating from high school. So I think that is a bit more important than going to Quilt Market, right?! Right!
But, just because I'm not going to be there doesn't mean that I won't have anything new to offer. In fact, I hope to have a new book completed sometime next month, with the projects that I've made using the Buttons & Bloms fabric.
So, check back in the coming days if you want to catch some sneak peeks of these projects.
And if you're going to be at Quilt Market, take a few pictures for me!
I would be home with my fella as well! Enjoy his graduation and time with family and friends. There will always be another quilt market! :)

Wow, your baby and my first born, graduating from high school. In some ways it feels like it was just yesterday we were there... Congrats to Tyler and the entire Degenkolb clan!

I don't blame you for staying home, you only get to see this happen once! Congrats! They are so special aren't they. Enjoy yourselves! Oh, I should have commented on your last post, I was so excited to see your new fabric line; it is awesome as usual! This fab and quiltaholic has got to get your new book and some of your new fabric when they come out! Thanks again for sharing and inspiring with your wonderful talents! Tricia

Enjoy your son's graduation! Congrats! You are very inspiring to the quilt world. I have a quick question for you, I'm working on the Tangled Threads pattern for the inset seams and am having some trouble-could you briefly go over how to do this again! Thanks Diane
